I, uh, I'd...
[This is... kind of a compromising position, now that she actually thinks about it, and her tactile sensors are all too happy to inform her of every place their bodies touch. Maybe she should move. Maybe... she can't bring herself to so much as twitch. Speaking without tripping over her own words is hard enough.]
Altering them how?
no subject
[Which means crafty Nines has been messing around with things he'd get in trouble for, if they were still under Command's rule.]
Let's just say I've been putting all the free time I have to good use. Er, sort of.
[When he's not using it to watch Food Network, that is.]
no subject
[she echoes his words with an impish smile on her face. They've all seen how much time you spend in front of the TV, Nines— but seriously, that's some impressive work. "Sort of" is selling himself short, in her opinion.]
That sounds... like a great idea, actually. [Totally against the rules if they were home, but who's it hurting?] You're pretty talented, Nines.
no subject
[Ah...he's blushing even harder now. Not only is she complimenting him but she's using that nickname of his again. The quirk of her lips doesn't help either. They're pretty. All of her is.]
So, um...yeah. If you want to try it out...it's possible.
[The implication of trying it with him is there but he doesn't voice it for fear of sounding like an idiot.]
no subject
[She shifts a little bit beneath him. Just resettling, translating nervous energy into motion really, it doesn't do a damn thing to make their potion less awkwardly intimate.]
So... do you want to...?
no subject
[What? Did she expect him to say no?]
I mean, I've always thought you're really sweet and cheery, 6O, not to mention beautiful and smart...
[Oh god tell him to shut up please.]
no subject
[but in seriousness- her face is flaming red, the nature of the situation combining with the compliments to throw her systems for a loop. She surprises herself when she manages to answer without stammering.]
You really think so? I mean, compared to the other Operators [not to mention 2B] I'm just...
[She's just gonna stop talking there. Now is not the time to spoil this for herself by playing the comparison game! This is actually happening!]
You're super cute, you know? Especially now that I get to see your eyes. And, and so smart, I mean who else would have thought of that, with the chips? And...
[she turns her head, a little too bashful to manage eye contact. Oh hey, the penguin movie is still on.]
I wanted to ask you because... I mean, the hacking, but also I knew you'd be good to me. You're so nice.
no subject
At least her face is as red as his so they're birds of a feather in a sense. Her compliment hits him hard and it shows as he looks away, unable to really process what she's saying. Super cute? Seriously? Smart? Well, okay, all Scanners were known for their intelligence but still! This is a lot to take in right now! Especially the whole you're so nice bit.
It's actually so much that he's sitting up, only to straddle her waist, both of his hands suddenly over his face.]
G-God 6O that's...you're flattering me a lot, you know? I really do think that, I mean it. Honestly I wouldn't say it otherwise.
no subject
It's not flattery if it's true~.
[That playful smirk is back, even though she's still blushing like mad. Even though she can practically feel the pounding of synthetic "blood" through her veins at a rate she's surprised isn't setting off system alerts. Is this what it feels like for humans, too?
She reaches up and closes her fingers around his wrist, gently trying to tug his hand back down. Look at her, 9S!]
Hey, hey. It's all right.
no subject
When he feels her fingers on his wrists he relinquishes them to her, forcing himself to look down and meet her gaze. Was it all right? Surely it must be if she says it is.]
...Really?
no subject
[Laughing softly, she drops his wrist and brushes her fingers over his cheek instead.]
Honestly, I wouldn't say it otherwise.
no subject
Well then, everything I've been working on is on my desk in my room so...
[So they should probably go there. Yup. Don't mind him as he awkwardly removes himself from her, even if he wishes he didn't have to. It's so comfortable to just lay on her the way he had been.]
no subject
She pauses to pick up her discarded veil along the way. She won't be needing it, but there's no sense in leaving it on the floor. Once in his room, she sets it aside and parks herself on the edge of the bed.]
Mm, should I wait here?
no subject
Just uh, there's good. Yeah.
[No point in her moving if they're gonna end up on the bed anyway. It doesn't take him long to find one of the chips he'd been working on, picking it up off the tray he'd set it on, only to turn around to face her, cheeks still pink.]
Found it.
no subject
I'm ready.
[She can put in her own plug-in chips just fine, so is she doing this specifically to torment him? Maaaaaaaybe just a little tiny bit.]
no subject
It should take about a minute to install. You might feel sort of, uh...weird? But don't worry, it's just your chassis going through all the necessary checks and balances it needs to do.
now that i'm done being distracted by emoji
A wave of... something passes through her body as soon as he closes her up, tingles she guesses she'd call it, hot and cold and not entirely unpleasant. Almost fizzy. She's just starting to enjoy it when for a moment, she loses tactile sensation entirely, leaving her floating, unanchored on solid ground.
Then she feels everything, a wave of unfiltered sensory input that startles a yelp out of her. Even the bedspread beneath her legs is too much all of a sudden, every thread seeming to stand out against her skin, and she draws her knees up and scrunches herself into a ball, trying to minimize the contact. But it's mercifully brief, and its passing leaves her feeling... pretty much normal again.]
Whoa.
touches
[Weird definitely doesn't cut it, but at least it's comforting in a way to see that she had a similar reaction to the chip as he did. That means it's working, that the code he had been meddling with was compatible with other units.]
Give me your hand for a moment?
no subject
[Can they find a way to make it do the fizzy thing on demand? That might be fun. Watching him closely she holds out her hand, palm up.]
no subject
Thanks to the chips and their permissions, we should be connected now. There's a kind of rush we get when we fight, so ultimately that positive feedback is now triggered by various physical stimulation. You have complete control of the settings, or at least you should. Don't be afraid to alter things to your liking - I'm here to correct any mistakes.
no subject
Connected? [A part of her awareness turns inward, looking for the new chip and its controls.] - yeah, I see it. Mm... I'll try it with your defaults first before I change anything around. Do I need to be connected to someone for it to work?
[That is, what if she gets with a human? Will it still feel nice?]
no subject
[There's something comforting to being connected, even if it's just over a simple network, after all.]
That's something humans don't have, that ability to really connect and get inside another person. We're kind of lucky in that regard.
no subject
Of course, she puts her curiosity on the backburner. It's not an invitation to take more than he sends her any more than linking with another Operator would be, and she would never really be so presumptuous. She just wonders. Though as for herself, she's basically an open book to him right now.]
It must be lonely. [She grasps his hand, lacing their fingers together, and gives it a little squeeze.]
Even when they're together, they're separate. Huh- you think that's why people here don't really care about privacy? They've always got some, in here. [With her free hand, she taps her temple.]
no subject
God does he know a thing or two about loneliness. Surely she does too. After all, she's just as emotional a being as he is, left without much of an outlet for it. There's a spike in temperature as her fingers lace together with his, a hitch of breath. It reminds him of when he's interfaced with Connor before, although the context was dramatically different. Even so, he'd begun to enjoy such closeness just on a friendly level.]
Maybe...I don't really know. Some humans are prudish and others don't seem to care at all. You're right though, they can always escape back into their heads.
[Not that Androids couldn't do the same, but it was still different. All the differences between them and their creators just continue to surprise him, each and every day.]
It's more intimate this way though, I think. To have both a physical connection and a network one.
[Swallowing he reaches up to brush her bangs aside, tucking a few wayward strands of gold behind an ear.]
We can have both, if you're ready for it.
no subject
I am.
[What's to do but dive right in? She places her free hand on his hip- it just seems the place for it- and leans toward him. A moment's pause to imprint all of this into her memory, the soft warmth of his hand in hers, the look in his eyes, even the slight give of the mattress beneath them. Then she goes for it, quickly closing the rest of the distance to capture his lips with her own.]
