[Not for the first time, she's glad for the visor covering her eyes and the terribly fond warmth she knows is in them as she looks at him. He's so determined, his humming is honestly adorable, and she knows she could have missed out on this if she had held onto her misplaced need to keep him at arm's length.

If she had pushed him away one more time she would have lost this chance, maybe for good with so many humans here to keep his interest. He seems to be less interested in them than she is, but she knows their programming as well as he does. There will always be a siren call to them, always a desire to see them smile.

But 9S isn't like her, and losing sight of that has almost cost her more than once. When he spins her out he surprises her, this new boldness something she isn't accustomed to with him, but even that is something she finds favorable.]


You do this better than the humans.

[Which might be shocking to hear from her, but it's a rare bit of open truth for him.]

They stumble a lot because they can't program the steps in like we do.
